Dr Ong Wai Choung is a practicing clinician, currently a faculty member at the Department of Gastroenterology and Hepatology, Singapore General Hospital. He graduated from the National University of Singapore in 1993. Having served in both primary care and institutional care, he obtained his Membership Royal College of Physicians (MRCP) UK in 2000 and Fellowship Academy of Medicine Singapore (FAMS) Gastroenterology Singapore in 2004.
He is presently Program Director and core faculty member (Gastroenterology) – Clinical Competency Committee and an endoscopy supervisor in the Gastroenterology Residency Program, Singapore General Hospital. He is an invited clinical lecturer at the Nanyang Polytechnic Nursing Program (2014 – 2017) and Duke-NUS Capstone Course (2012 – 2014). He is a clinical examiner for the MBBS (S’pore) National University Singapore.
His current interest includes interventional endoscopy, general gastroenterology and Functional Bowel disease. This wide interest involves the need for a holistic approach to clinical medicine in addition to the technicalities of interventional endoscopy.
