Dr Wong graduated from the National University of Malaysia and completed his fellowship in Gastroenterology & Hepatology in Singhealth. Dr Wong has a keen interest in hepatology and is currently a Consultant Gastroenterologist at the Department of Gastroenterology and Hepatology, Changi General Hospital. He was honoured as the awardee of the prestigious AASLD Presidential Plenary lecture in DDW 2022, the Nurturing Clinician Scientist Scheme (NCSS) from Medicine ACP, Singhealth, and the best oral presentation in GIHEP 2018 and GIHEP 2021.
Dr Wong’s research interests are in the non-invasive prediction of portal hypertension, treatment outcomes of viral hepatitis C and endoscopy. He has more than 50 publications in peer-reviewed journals, 70 abstracts presented at various regional and international meetings. Dr Wong serves as an editorial board member in the Journal of Clinical and Translational Hepatology. Besides his research endeavour, Dr Wong is also actively involved in medical education and quality improvement projects and has received numerous awards from the hospital. Currently, Dr Wong holds concurrent appointments as a Clinical Assistant Professor at Duke-NUS Medical School, Adjunct instructor at Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine and Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine, Singapore.
