Di Jones is currently a Nurse Unit Manager Endoscopy services Logan Hospital in Queensland, Australia. Di started work in gastroenterological nursing in 1976 and has worked as a clinician, researcher, educator and manager in the speciality. Di has had extensive involvement in the Gastroenterological Nurses College of Australia (GENCA) and is a lifetime member of the College. She also served for 8 years as President of the Society of International Gastroenterological Nurses and Endoscopy Associates. Di was the course coordinator for the Gastroenterology Nursing Continuing Education Courses at Queensland University of Technology. Di is a co-author of “Infection Control in Endoscopy” and “Standards for Endoscopic Facilities” and was a member of the working party that developed the Queensland Health web-based course in endoscope reprocessing. She is a Director of Australian and New Zealand Gastroenterology International Training Association (ANZGITA) and has participated in establishing training programs at all sites where ANZGITA is involved (Myanmar, Timor-Leste, Nepal, Solomon Islands, Fiji). Di contributes to the speciality as an invited speaker at local, national and international conferences. Di was awarded the Order of Australia Medal in 2012 for services to nursing.
